Every 12-bar blues in E ends with some version of this move. Descending double stops that walk you back home to the open low E. It works at the end of bar 11 into bar 12, and it never sounds wrong.
Play it lazy. Blues turnarounds hate being rushed, so set the speed to 70 percent and practice landing that last note right in the pocket.
