Online Metronome
A precise, no-fuss metronome for practice. Set your tempo, pick a time signature, and press start.
How to practice with a metronome
- Start slow. Set a tempo where you can play a passage cleanly with zero mistakes — even if it feels too easy.
- Lock in to the click. Aim to make the metronome "disappear" — when you're perfectly in time, your note lands right on the beat and you barely hear it.
- Bump it up 3–5 BPM only once a passage is clean, and repeat. Small steps beat big jumps.
- Use subdivisions. Switch to eighths or triplets to tighten up your strumming and picking between the main beats.
- Tap tempo to match a song you're learning — tap along four times and it sets the BPM for you.
Pair this with the Scale Library for running scales in time, or warm up your chord changes from the Chord Library. Tune up first with the Guitar Tuner.
